Frequently Asked Questions

The Farm Kitchen FAQ

Q: What is a Culinary Escape?

Our Culinary Escapes are a perfect getaway for a romantic weekend or a girls outing.  During the day, guests explore all Asheville has to offer.  Then they return to The Farm to relax after a day of adventure.

Our packages contain the following:

  • 2 night stay in one of our well appointed cabins or cottages
  • 3 farm-to-table meals:  2 breakfasts and one gourmet dinner with a cooking demonstration by our Executive Chef, Mike Ferrari
  • Mid week participants can also be able to join one of our cooking classes (space permitting)

Q: When are Culinary Escapes scheduled?

Culinary Escapes run over 3 days.  Guests check in on Day 1.  On Day 2, they enjoy breakfast in The Farm Kitchen and have the day to explore Asheville or just relax on the property.  They return to participate in our cooking demonstration and gourmet dinner and then retire for the evening.  On Day 3, there is another delicious breakfast and then check-out.

Culinary Escapes are generally scheduled for Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and Friday/Saturday/Sunday.  Space is limited.  Call our office at (828) 667-0666 for availability.

Q: How do I find out about upcoming cooking classes?

We release a list of upcoming classes each quarter; usually offering 2 to 3 per month.  Folks interested in our classes can check on our website or sign-up to receive our e-news class schedule.

Q: Are these hands-on cooking classes or just demonstrations?

Our cooking classes are a real hands-on experience.  Classes are limited to just 12 students to ensure everyone has plenty of time to practice techniques and work directly with our Executive Chef.

Q: Do I need to bring anything with me to class?

Nope.  Chef Mike provides everything you need including paper to take notes and copies of the delicious recipes you’ll make during the class.

Q: Is cooking experience required to attend these classes?  What if I can’t boil water?

No prior experience is required.  Because class sizes are small Chef Mike can work with any burgeoning chef based on their own skill level.

Q: Can I schedule one of your private cooking classes?

Yes!  We offer private cooking classes and can accommodate up to 12 participates.  These classes are a unique, intriguing and fun team-building event.

Q: Can I host a private event at The Farm?

Absolutely.  We have a Chef’s Table that is perfect for intimate events for up to 40 guests.  Clients can host larger events in our Event Center.  Our wrap around porch allows us to accommodate up to 300 guests during warm weather.

Our Executive Chef will work with you to create a custom menu.  We offer a variety of service styles ranging from plated fine dining to buffets to attended cooking stations.

Call our office at (828) 667-0666 for availability and pricing.

Q: How far are you located from Asheville?

We are located a short 10 miles from downtown Asheville.
